Job Requirements | |
| * | Experience transcribing for multiple specialties. |
| * | Completion of an accredited medical transcriptionist course or equivalent work experience. |
| * | Type 60 wpm+ (80+ preferred). |
| * | Fluent medical terminology; anatomy, physiology and English language rules. |
| * | Excellent spelling, vocabulary and grammar skills. |
| * | Own computer with Windows XP, MS Word, Norton Anti-virus, and Zone Alarm firewall. |
| * | Due to HIPPA requirements this computer cannot be shared with others. |
| * | Own specific medical reference books to facilitate accuracy, clarity, and completeness of reports. |
| * | Your work at home area must be set up to support confidentiality. |
| * | Must have Internet connectivity that does not block e-mail sending on port 25. DSL or cable desired. |
| * | If you have only one telephone that becomes occupied by your transcribing, you will need a second phone (cell phone is acceptable) so we are able to reach you if necessary. |
| * | Must have MSN Messenger so that we are able to message you while online. |
| * | No tape pickup, no hard copy delivery. Train in office, work at home. |

Compensation | |
| You're paid by production, a 65-character line, which includes spaces and all text created by word expanders. Font size and formatting make no difference in this count. We use the most honest and reliable way to count characters: raw ASCII text. This enables you to verify your own character counts so you know exactly what you're paid. We offer pay incentives depending on the client you are transcribing. You're allowed a set amount of vacation time annually. | |
